Niche Inspector

Software by Myleena Phan

NICHE INSPECTOR by MYLEENA PHAN
-------------------------------------------------

After purchasing Niche Inspector for $127 on 06 November 2008 with PayPal, I have still not heard from Myleena Phan about the non-delivery of the Niche Inspector software. I wrote to PayDotCom on 19 November, to report it. This was their reply:

"Hello.

I'm sorry, but this person has been suspended from PDC for failing to pay thousands of dollars in commissions among other things.

She cannot be reinstated unless she takes care of all outstanding debts (including yours) and she has also not responded back to my efforts to contact her.

Take Care,

Steve

So, it seems that the seemingly friendly Myleena Phan has disappeared with my $127 and a lot of other people's money!

Update
---------

This is an e-mail exchange between two Niche Inspector users which occurred on 12 December 2008:

User A: "Something’s up...

I just started Niche Inspector again... This time I got a message saying that my e‑mail address was not in their registered users database. I typed in again the same one that worked before, but still no go.

So, I’m wondering whether their database has disappeared along with Myleena Phan.

Can you still start the app with your e-mail address? If not, it probably means that no customers anywhere can use it any more."

User B: "I got the same problem. They probably decided not to support the database server anymore.

We should find someone to crack the code to take out the email lookup since we've been cheated."

User A: "It’s hard to believe.

Please let me know if someone cracks it.

What’s be the legal position? Would Myleena Phan still have rights to the cracked version?"

User B: "It's a good question. Apparently, they have abandoned it. I wonder if any of the functionality of the program depends on server side code. In any case, it's a sad end to a potentially good program."

... and on 14 December 2008:

User B: "I just checked on Allen Gardyne's associate programs site and he has stopped recommending Niche Inspector because they have gone offline and he can't contact them by phone or email."

User A: "If it helps at all, the contact info I found is as follows:
Myleena Phan
10030 Berri #2
Montreal, Quebec H3L 2G4
Canada
514-313-7693
641-985-5999 (PayPal record)

Try complaining to PayPal. I did. They may freeze her account, if she hasn't cleared it out already."

If anyone has anything to add to this, either another cheated customer or a code cracker, please contact mailbox@NicheSiteCreator.net.

Update 16 December 2008
---------

Several users have made contact, having experienced the same problem. One user telephoned Myleena Phan, but the phone just kept ringing.

A user said that there was no indication of a problem with Myleena Phan in their past correspondence.

This leads one to imagine that something drastic might have happened to Myleena Phan. If it has, it must have happened some time ago, because PayDotCom said that she owed $thousands to affiliates.

If Myleena Phan has died, and there's no one else to take up the reins, and her web hosting expired, that could account for the Niche Inspector login process suddenly failing to connect with the database to perform the security check. Yet users say that her site is still up and is still able to take payments. So, why is the site still there, but not the database?

If anyone has anything to add to this, either a user or Myleena Phan's service provider, please contact mailbox@NicheSiteCreator.net.

Update 23 December 2008
---------

More users have reported that the Niche Inspector will no longer work. There is hope of getting your money back, however. I succeeded, against my expectation, in getting my purchase reversed at PayPal. Although I lodged my complaint within PayPal's 60-day time limit, it may still be worthwhile to complain to PayPal directly, rather than through their Resolution Centre. The fact that I got my money back indicates that there are still funds in Myleena Phan's PayPal account, which suggests that she may indeed have died.

Or has she?...

I just revisited her Niche Inspector blog at http://www.myleenaphan.com/about/, only to find that all my posts have disappeared! I have added today the following post at her blog:

"I paid for Niche Inspector in October 2008, but could not download it. I posted three messages of complaint at this blog, but did not get a response here, nor to my direct emails. Now, on 23 December, I see that all my posts have been removed from this blog.

Who removed them? Somebody did. Does this mean that Myleena Phan still alive?"

Let's see how long my latest post survives at her blog.

Update 31 December 2008
---------

After 8 days my post to Myleena Phan's blog is still there.

Thank you all for your e-mails; I'm getting quite a few, and I answer every one personally.

It’s interesting to hear how people's experience with Myleena Phan’s support can polarize. Some say that it was good; others have said that it was completely useless.

If nobody connected with Myleena Phan picks up any of the news flying around on the Web about this problem, and fixes it, I’ll look into the possibilty of a code hack myself. Although I’ve no experience in such matters, there may be something I can do. I’ve even been asked to rewrite the Niche Inspector program from scratch. First, though, I must concentrate my efforts on getting my own software to market. The Landing Page Creator is due to be released later today, and the Niche Site Creator next month.

I wish a Happy and Prosperous New Year to all!

Steve,
Abacus Data Systems.

Update 02 January 2009
---------

Here are a couple of interesting e-mails I received during the last few days. Perhaps all hope of a Niche Inspector resurrection is not lost...?

---------

"I did locate several safe (aka virus free) sites that offer "cracks" for that program. I can't actually verify that the cracks work or that they would work on the version that I have (1.0.58) because I don't want to purchase a membership. And apparently, a crack will sometimes only work on a particular version (1.0.48, for example) which wouldn't be useful since the earlier versions are probably not functional now.

However, I saved nearly every file version that was released from Myleena's site, going all the way back to the original (version 1.0.26).

In the meantime I've purchased Micro Niche Finder and will begin learning how to use it today.

Regarding your product, LandingPageCreator...all I can say is....Wow! (actually, all of your programs look very appealing)"

---------

"The code could be fairly easily cracked, but since Niche Inspector was
primarily reliant on the now-discontinued Overture, what would be the point?
Better someone writes a new program combining the best of NI with other
current niche search tools. I might even finance such a project!

Alternatively, I'd be interested to hear if anyone knows of a tool out there
that will come close to the performance of NI which, in my opinion, was the
most efficient and easy to operate niche research tool I have used."

Update 14 March 2009
---------

Here's an enlightening e-mail I received.Will Myleena Phan return...?

---------

"According to her profile, Myleena Phan's last activity on Site Point was Dec 5, 2008.  She was still around apparently, but up to who-knows-what.It's just a hunch, but I think she has marital problems and/or depression.I've seen older posts where she is apologizing for "disappearing" because she was overwhelmed by "things", just as she did earlier on, shortly after launching Niche Inspector to later return and then disappear again. It's possible that she simply abandoned NI.I doubt that she is deceased as others have speculated."
